Our Story

This is Us

How This is it! Community was born

Our story began with a homeschool co-op, where we combined our superpowers to create an extraordinary learning experience for our kids. We invited experts to share their passions and saw our students thrive in ways we hadn’t imagined. Seeing the impact on our kids, we had a lightbulb moment: why not bring this magic to women?

We realized that just because we were out of the classroom didn’t mean our own thirst for growth and learning in community had to end. We knew that women, much like our children, have an insatiable curiosity and desire to grow, and maybe even have some fun every once in a while! We dreamt of addressing some of the common challenges and unmet needs of women, and the concept quickly blossomed into a community where self-care, well-being, and genuine support take center stage.

This is it! Community revolves around the idea that women deserve more space in their own lives and time to explore their own paths, all while surrounded by passionate friends and experts to help support them along the way. And they deserve these things right now, in this very moment. You deserve these things, too. Because this is it, and it’s going to be fantastic!

This is Whitney

I am one of those “crazy creative types.” Terrible with monotony but excellent at daydreaming, and always equipped with a witty pun. Originally from California, I grew increasingly disenchanted with the priorities, values, and fast-paced lifestyle there. So I convinced my husband, Daniel, that we should sell our house and move across the country (with our two kids and a menagerie of pets in-tow). We moved to Texas first, and eventually landed in beautiful Greenville, South Carolina. Life in Greenville is a far better fit and I do a happy dance daily at the life we get to live here. I am a very proud wife, and a mom to a daughter, a son, two pups, and two bunnies. In my professional life, I was the founder/owner of a wedding coordination company called Wish Wonder Dream in Los Angeles for 12 years. Prior to that, I was a Floor Director at Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood. Today, I spend the majority of my time homeschooling my kiddos and I've parlayed my passion for planning into a homeschool learning club called The Coop. I absolutely LOVE it! I also have the enormous  pleasure of planning our monthly This is it! Community events and our upcoming Women's Wellness Conference. I have truly never felt more aligned with my calling.
What the words "this is it" mean to me
It’s so easy for me to get caught up in a vision of what’s ahead. I spend a lot of my daydreaming in the future tense, and I so often tell myself that I will do something, or begin something when ____. The concept of “this is it” is a reminder to myself that I can’t get caught up in what my future might look like, because I have so little control over that. It may not even look anything like what it does in my head. That’s equal parts exciting and terrifying, but the fact remains that I can only control my present, and how I show up to it. At any given moment I can put one foot in front of the other and carpe diem my heart out. As long as I can remember to ‘be where my feet are’ instead of in my head, then I can embrace each day and all of its promise.
I love my family more than life, and most days I’m perfectly content to stay in with my kids; watching our pets play. With that said, I also relish my alone time and I appreciate any opportunity to pursue passions that are uniquely my own. Im so excited to help grow This is it! Community, where we can create moments for women to prioritize themselves and to find community that makes them feel whole; like they can celebrate every part of who they are and the season of life they’re in.

What I wish people knew about me
I think my least favorite thing is for people to make assumptions about me, and try to put me in a box. I pride myself on being something of a chameleon, and nothing brings me greater joy than getting to know, and befriend, people from all walks of life. I think life is about finding opportunities to grow and develop; and to stay conscious of the signs that a pivot might be necessary. I love reading romantasy as much as philosophy. I’m equal parts introvert and extrovert. I’m actually not sure whether I’m an optimistic pessimist or a pessimistic optimist. The key takeaway here is that I don’t love being defined, and I hope This is it! Community is a space where we can all be open minded about who we are, and who each other is, and not rush to judgement or definition.

This is Joy

They call me a half back—a New Yorker who found a second home in the sunny landscapes of West Palm Beach, Florida. After my time in the Sunshine State, my family and I embarked on an incredible adventure. We packed up our lives, hopped in a truck pulling our home behind us, and hit the road with my husband and two kids in tow. For about a year and a half, we traveled, exploring new places and creating lasting memories. Our journey eventually led us to Landrum, South Carolina, where we now share a property with my extended family.
I've always been the person friends turn to for honesty and a listening ear. Being a good friend is important to me—I value trust, loyalty, and genuine connections. Whether it’s sharing a laugh, lending a hand, or offering a dose of reality, I’m here for it all.  I’m a firm believer that everyone deserves to live as their truest self. Whether it’s pursuing passions, embracing quirks, or simply being real, I’m all about supporting others on their journey to authenticity.

When I’m not catching up with friends or exploring the great outdoors, you can find me reading, finding my easy to the beach, or at Costco. Life’s journey has taught me the value of embracing change and cherishing family bonds. I’m grateful for the adventures that have shaped me and look forward to what the future holds.

What the words "this is it" mean to me
My kids are at the point where they don't need me as much as they did a few years back, For quite some time I have been trying to figure out what's next. Teaching? Open a restaurant? Start an Airbnb business? When I was approached with the concept of This is it! Community I thought this is a great opportunity for what's next. “This is it” means something that is just for me! A time for empowerment and growth, and to be in the moment and be fully present.

This is Anna

I help people solve wicked problems, create the impossible, and enjoy their wild and precious life. I’m a coach, consultant, and designer on a mission to bring clarity, meaning, and contentment to everyday life. I believe that the best way to predict the future is to create it.

Over the years I’ve forged a path through different careers and industries, from psychology and medical research to architecture, strategy, and software design. As a consultant, I’ve led the strategy, design, development, and launch of well-known and well-loved products and services experienced by millions of people every day. As coach, I empower people to achieve exponential results in a way that feels meaningful and good.

My superpowers include clearing a path through the noise, uncovering the signals, and inspiring and emboldening people to dissolve limitations and create what once seemed impossible. Most importantly, I help people enjoy their life already. Like the song reminds us, "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think."

What the words "this is it" mean to me
"This is it" means that the only thing that's real is this moment. The past and the future are just thoughts, electrochemical processes in our brain. I tend to live mostly in the future (i.e. mostly in my thoughts), so "this is it" brings me back to what's real and what's most important. Instead of thinking about how I can be a better mom to my kids, coming up with all sorts of strategies and reading books and studies, I can actually go to them in the other room, right now, and be with them in this very moment.

What I wish people knew about me

I wish people knew I'm not as strong or with-it as they tell me I seem to be, that I have challenges too, I often feel overwhelmed and could maybe use a teeny bit of help every once in a while. And that sometimes what I need the most help with is admitting that I need help ♡

This is Amber

Hey there! I’m Amber, a homeschool mom of three wild and wonderful kids. My journey began as a middle school teacher in Georgia, but I quickly swapped the classroom for the chaos and joy of full-time motherhood. I love exploring new places—whether it’s traveling to distant destinations or field-tripping with my village, I’m always up for an adventure. Dance parties in the kitchen? Absolutely! Splashing in waterfalls? Sign me up. Matching outfits? You know it.
When I’m not wrangling my lively crew, you can find me outside—gardening, hiking, or just soaking up the sunshine. This love of the outdoors led my family to Greenville, and we’ve been enchanted with this gorgeous city ever since. From the mountain views to biking along the Swamp Rabbit Trail and evening walks downtown, Greenville has truly captured our hearts and brought our family closer together.
While exploring this city is a dream, nothing makes me happier than throwing fantastic parties or hosting friends and family. There’s an incredible joy in creating spaces where loved ones can gather, laugh, and make lasting memories. I’m passionate about it, even though it can take up a lot of time and energy. To recharge, I love heading out to a yoga class or catching up with a friend. I thrive on being active and social, but I also cherish those rare moments of alone time with a good book.

What the words "this is it" mean to me
“This Is It” is a heartfelt reminder to embrace the present and live fully in the now. As a mom of three, juggling endless responsibilities, it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and overlook the beauty of life’s journey. I've found myself focusing on the "What ifs" of the future or longing for the sweet moments of the past. Sometimes, a season of life is just so magical that it’s hard to move on. “This Is It” encourages me to pause, breathe, and cherish the chaos and joy of the everyday moments of now.
At our conference, I’m excited to create a space where women can reconnect with themselves and each other, rediscover joy, and leave feeling rejuvenated and empowered. The conference is about taking that much-needed break, finding clarity and purpose, and realizing that we don’t have to wait for someday—today is the day to start living our best lives. Let’s embrace the present and make every moment count.

What I wish people knew about me
I wish people knew just how nervous and vulnerable I feel embarking on this new venture after being a stay-at-home mom for so long. Transitioning from the familiar mayhem of motherhood back into the world of planning and organizing is both exhilarating and intimidating. I've participated in well-being programs geared toward mothers in the past and have truly grown as a person through those experiences. I'm excited to bring that same transformative energy to others with our conference, but it’s a bit scary too.
Despite my high-strung nature, I’m really trying to embrace a more easy-breezy approach to life. I want everyone to know that it’s okay to feel uncertain and to step out of your comfort zone. This journey is about finding joy, connecting with others, and growing together. So, if you see me with a nervous smile, just know that I’m doing my best to share something special with all of you.

“Achievement is most meaningful when it is relational. When what we do matters to other people, it matters more to us.”
Robert Waldinger in The Good Life: Lessons from the World's Longest Study on Happiness
